CLI Command Reference
logging host
This command enables logging to a host. You can configure up to eight hosts. The <ipaddr> is
the IP address of the logging host. The
<port> value is a port number from 1 to 65535. You
can specify the
<severitylevel> value as either an integer from 0 to 7 or symbolically
through one of the following keywords:
emergency (0), alert (1), critical (2), error (3),
warning (4), notice (5), info (6), or debug (7).
Default
port—514
level—critical (2)

logging host <ipaddr> [<port>][<severitylevel>]
Mode Global Config
logging host remove
This command disables logging to host. See “show logging hostson page 271 for a list of
host indexes.

logging host remove <hostindex>

logging port
This command sets the local port number of the LOG client for logging messages. The
<portid> can be in the range from 1 to 65535.
Default 514

logging port <portid>
Mode Global Config
no logging port
This command resets the local logging port to the default.
Format
no logging port

logging syslog
This command enables syslog logging. The <portid> parameter is an integer with a range of
1-65535.
Default disabled

logging syslog [port <portid>]

This command disables syslog logging.
