11. Select Code Related from the Item Type drop-down list.
12. Select 2 from the Code Definition Number drop-down list.
13. Select Simple from the Code Cutting drop-down list.
14. Enter 6 in the Number of Leading Chars to Cut text field.
15. Click Add.
16. Select String from the Item Type drop-down list.
17. To create a comma separator, click to activate the Text Entry Tool, select the comma (,)
and click Submit.
18. Click Add.
19. Select Global from the Item Type drop-down list.
20. Select Hours from the Global Item drop-down list.
21. Enter 2 in the Item Length (Number of Characters) field.
22. Click Add.
23. Select String from the Item Type drop-down list.
24. To create a colon separator, click to activate the Text Entry Tool, select the colon (:) and
click Submit.
25. Repeat steps 18-24 two more times substituting Minutes and Seconds for Hours to create
hh:mm:ss (do not add a colon after the seconds).
The resulting Item List should look like this:
26. Click Update to save your changes.
Verify Message Format
1. Prepare a box with barcodes matching those to be read by the system. In this example the system
is set up to read two barcodes, code 1 as a Code 128 4-40 character barcode, and code 2 is set
up as a Code 39 10 character barcode.
