Procedure in case of malfunctions

Alarm message Priority Explanation/Measure
Check pacer
High priority The pacer is stimulating, but there is no connection
between the monitoring unit and the
defibrillator/pacer.
The wireless communication between the patient
box and the monitoring unit/defibrillator has been
interrupted or could not be established:
Make sure that the distance between the modules is
not more than 10 m and that no barriers are
compromising the wireless connection.
Use corpuls
3
as a compact device if necessary.
Communication in the connected state between the
defibrillator and monitoring unit/patient box is cut off
or could not be established:
Check if one of the two infrared interfaces is covered
or dirty.
If necessary, use corpuls
3
with wireless
connection.
Contact sales and service partners, if necessary.
Check plug therapy
cable
High priority The connectors of the therapy master cable and the
therapy electrodes have been connected while
turned the wrong way by 180 degrees and have to
be checked for damage.
If no damage is visible, connect the electrode plug
again to the therapy master cable, oriented correctly.
If the alarm message persists or damage is visible,
the corpuls
3
is not functioning correctly and must
not be used.

Medium priority The measured carbondioxide level exceeds/falls
below the upper/lower alarm limit.
Check the patient's vital signs.
CO2 apnoea High priority An apnoea has been detected.
Check respiration.
CO2 cable loose Medium priority The cable indicated is not connected to the patient
box.
Check the respective cable and reconnect if
necessary.
CO2 error High priority Check the CO2 sensor.
Measures according to need: attach CO
2
sensor to
patient, attach CO
2
sensor to CO
2
adapter or put CO
2
sensor into its holder in the accessory bag.
Remove foreign body on the surface of the CO
2
sensor if necessary.
