8.3 Formatting a USB Flash Drive
The USB ash drive must be formatted (initialized) before it can be used. The instrument formats
drives in the FAT32 format.
Formatting is necessary since les on the USB ash drive can only be
recognized when stored using the FAT32 le system.
Screen display method (For more information, see p. 29.):

Insert the USB ash drive into the front
USB connector (p. 138).

Touch the OPTION>> key.

Touch the FORMAT key.

Touch the FORMAT key.
Touch when you wish to cancel the format
operation. (The dialog box will be closed.)
Formatting of the USB ash drive will be-
gin.
No operation is possible during formatting.
When formatting ends, the dialog is closed.
• When you perform a format, all of the data
saved to the USB ash drive is deleted and
cannot be restored. Carefully check the
contents before you perform a format.
• We recommend making a backup of any
important data on a USB ash drive.
• When formatting is performed with the in-
strument, the volume label
*
of the USB ash
drive becomes NO NAME.
*: A volume label is a name given to a disk drive
on a USB ash drive or other media.

Touch the EXIT key.
Displays the measurement screen.
