Device status
When required, the results of the power-up tests can be checked to determine the reason the recorder has
gone to “Failsafe”.
The following procedure in Table 9-3 tells you how to display the results of the latest tests run. Table 9-4
lists the tests, the reason for the failure, and how to correct the problem.
Table 9-3 Procedure for displaying the device status

Until you see:
Upper Display: READ
Lower Display: STATUS

Read the status tests
results
FUNC
Until you see:
Upper Display: NO or YES
(YES indicates a failure)
Lower Display: FAILSAFE
Successive presses of the FUNC key will display the
results of the tests (PASS or FAIL) in the following
order:
RAM TEST
CONFTEST
CAL TEST
FACT CRC
BATTERY
Identify the problem from the error message and
correct the failure as shown under "Lower Display
Indication” in Table 9-4.
