7.3.11 Connector Interlocks
In the sections below, the connector interlocks are described.
7.3.11.1 Server Board Cable Connector
The SAS backplane has an interlock on the 100-pin connector. This allows the server board to
detect its presence.
7.3.12 Clock Generation
The SAS backplane requires one 4MHz crystal for the VSC410* controller.
7.3.13 Programmed Devices
There are two programmed devices on the SAS backplane.
7.3.13.1 Flash Memory
The Flash memory device contains program code. The code is run by the VSC410* controller.
Memory configuration: 64Mb SPI
7.3.13.2 Field Replaceable Unit (FRU)
The FRU is a serial EEPROM programmed at automated test equipment (ATE).
Memory Configuration: 64Kb serial
