Check all connections on the staple finisher controller card and the
stapler assembly for damage. If necessary, replace the
connections.

Check if you can remove the staple cartridge.
Can you remove it?
Go to step 3. Go to step 5.
Step 3
Remove the staple cartridge and then check it for jammed staples.
If necessary, remove the jammed staples.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 4. Problem is solved.
Step 4
Do the following:
a Remove the stapler assembly. Go to “SFP stapler assembly
rear door assembly removal” on page 431.
b Manually rotate the drive gears, and then reset the stapler.
c Remove all jammed staples.
d Reinstall the stapler assembly.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 5. Problem is solved.
