StapleSmart FINISHER TESTS
Staple Test
This test
verifies
the operation of the staple mechanism in the
finisher.
The printer feeds eight pieces of media
to the finisher and accumulates all eight pieces in the finisher. After the last sheets are accumulated, the pack
is stapled.
1 From the Diagnostics menu, navigate to FINISHER TESTS > Staple Test.
2 Select an output bin, and then press the Select button.
Staple Test Running... appears on the display while the test is running. The test cannot be canceled.
Feed Test
This test
verifies
that media can be fed from the default paper source to a
finisher
bin. Any supported paper
sizes can be used. The printer feeds eight blank sheets of media from the default source to the finisher bin.
1 From the Diagnostics menu, select FINISHER TESTS.
2 Select Feed Test.
Feed Test Running... appears on the display. This test cannot be canceled.
Sensor Test
This test verifies whether the finisher sensors are working correctly.
CAUTION—SHOCK HAZARD: Do not use your hand to toggle these switches. Use a nonconducting
object.
1 From the Diagnostics menu, navigate to FINISHER TESTS > Sensor Test.
2 Select a set of sensors to test:
Staple Sensors
• Cartridge present sensor
• Staple low sensor
• Self‑priming sensor
• Home signal sensor
Cover and Door
• Finisher top cover sensor
• Side door sensor
Pass and Media
• Finisher pass thru
• Media sensor
Bin Level
• Finisher bin empty
• Bin full sensor
