RFID Option Test
This test confirms whether the RFID firmware and hardware are working properly. If the test fails, repeat the
test to confirm that the problem is not intermittent or caused by a single failed piece of RFID media.
Note: If the printer has problems picking RFID media from a tray, try using a shorter stack of media (less than
100 sheets) before assuming a pick mechanism problem. The RFID media should contain as RFID tag that is
positioned within the first half of the page from the leading edge.
1 From the Diagnostics menu, select RFID Option Test.
2 Load RFID media in Tray 2, and then press Continue.
A test page is printed.
3 Check the test page to determine whether the test has passed or failed.
If the page has a print of a sheet with a prohibition sign, then the test fails. Possible causes are:
Bad RFID media
RFID UHF option failure
Try the test again with a new piece of RFID media. If the test fails again, then replace the RFID UHF option.
4 If the test has passed, then reload in Tray 2 the RFID media that was printed in step 2 on page 240.
Note: Make sure to load the media facedown with the arrow pointing toward the front of the printer.
5 Press Continue, and then check the test page to determine whether the test has passed or failed.
