Exercise Sheet 2-14-1
Adjusting the Tooling Flow Controls
1. Determine the location of your tooling flow controls.
2. If the dispensing area front plate needs to be removed, remove it now.
3. In the FmNT Main Window, click on Tools.
4. Click on I/O Test.
5. Click on Conveyor.
 The I/O Test dialog box for the conveyor opens.
6. Locate the I/O for the stop pins, clamp bars or lift tables.
 Depending upon your system configuration, you should have one or two of
each pneumatic device.
 They are located on the Outputs tab in the I/O Test dialog box and labeled
according to device and location. For example, CV1_STOP_UP_LEFT is the
I/O for the left-most (pre-dispense zone) stop pin on conveyor 1.
7. Test each device by turning the I/O ON (1) and OFF (0), and watching as the
device raises and lowers.
 The stop pins should raise and lower smoothly and quickly, all lift tables should
raise and lower at the same rate, and the pair(s) of clamp bars should be
synchronized.
8. Use the flat head screwdriver to turn the flow control adjustment knobs to either
speed up or slow down the raising and lowering.
 Clamp bars and lift tables always have two hoses, one black and one blue,
connected to the pneumatic solenoid for each device. The black hose controls
the down pressure. The blue hose controls the up pressure. They need to be
adjusted separately.
9. Once you are satisfied with the performance of the stop pins, clamp bars or lift
tables, close the I/O Test dialog box.
10. Replace the dispensing area front plate.
