Disconnecting the DJ-2000
Tools and Materials Needed:
 Spanner Wrench
 Torque Wrench
 3-mm hex key
1. Disconnect the solenoid connector on the DJ-2000 from the dispensing head bulkhead
connector.
2. Disconnect the pneumatic hoses (jet pressure and fluid pressure) from the dispensing
head manifold.
3. Disconnect the DJ-2000 heater cables from the dispense head.
4. Loosen the syringe thumbscrew and remove the syringe from the syringe bracket on the
dispensing head.
5. Use a 3-mm hex key to remove the (2) 3-mm bolts that hold the valve to the
bracket/z-head.
6. Use the spanner wrench to loosen the preload lock nut and turn the preload screw until
the preload screw turns freely and there is no tension on the spring.
7. Turn the outer micrometer collar (preload) approximately five turns counterclockwise to
loosen it.
8. It is important to loosen the Micrometer/Preload Assembly when disassembling the pump,
or you risk damaging the needle and extension seat during reassembly. If you do not
loosen the Micrometer/Preload Assembly, the spring tension may force the
needle through the extension seat, cracking the metal and causing permanent
damage to the extension and needle.
9. You will feel the spring release.
10. Using the torque wrench, remove the nozzle from the extension.
