Trainee Guide TR-L2-M2000
Level 2 Maintenance Training - M2000 Dispensing Systems 3-2-30 P/N 73-0018-00 (Revision B)
Exercise Sheet 3-6-4
Disconnecting the DV-6000
Tools and Materials Needed:
3/32-inch hex key
4-mm hex key
Adjustable Jaw (Crescent

) Wrench
Seal Removal Tool (P/N 48-8105)
1. Disconnect the DV-6000 Interface Cable from the dispense head.
2. Disconnect the blue air pressure line on the manifold.
3. Remove the syringe by loosening the nylon thumbscrew and turning the luer elbow
counter-clockwise.
4. Remove the DV-6000 from the dovetail bracket by loosening the 4-mm setscrew on the
right side of the bracket.
5. Raise the DV-6000 and slide it out.
6. Loosen the motor mount cleats on the top of the DV-6000 body using the 3/32-inch hex
key.
7. They must rotate 180° so the flattened edge of the cleat faces the valve in order to
remove the motor.
8. Gently pull the motor and feedscrew straight up, away from the valve body.
Alternate procedure:
1. If the motor and feedscrew assembly is difficult to pull apart, reconnect the motor to the
CB-6000 Interface Cable. Grasp the motor. Purge the valve. When the motor begins to
turn, pull gently. The motor and feedscrew assembly will come out of the vertical feed
chamber. The motor with the feedscrew will release.
2. CAUTION! Never remove the feedscrew from the motor shaft. It is precision
aligned at the factory.
3. Use the crescent wrench to remove the stainless steel luer lock fitting on the front of the
DV-6000 to which the syringe/luer elbow mounts.
4. Use the 3/32-inch hex key to remove the black shield from the bottom of the DV-6000
body. CAUTION! Do not remove the lower luer lock from the valve body. This will
destroy the valve alignment and void your warranty.
5. If the Teflon lip seal has been leaking, use the seal removal tool to remove the seal, and
install a new one. Otherwise, leave the seal in place.
