Exercise Sheet 5-4-1
Removing and Replacing the Heater Relay Module
Tools and Materials Needed:
 4-mm hex key
1. Press the Emergency Stop (EMO) button.
2. Turn the Main Circuit Breaker OFF (O).
3. Unplug all power cords.
4. Open the lower back access door.
5. Identify the Heater Relay Module.
6. Check to make sure that all of the cables connected to the Heater Relay Module are
labeled.
 If a cable is not labeled, label it according to its corresponding receptor.
7. Disconnect all cables from the Heater Relay Module.
8. Use the 4-mm hex key to remove the two securing bolts on the bottom of the module.
9. Use the 4-mm hex key to remove the two securing bolts on the top of the module.
 Use one hand to hold on to the module to prevent it from dropping and possibly
damaging internal parts.
10. Gently slide the Heater Relay Module about three-quarters of the way out from the back
of the dispensing system.
11. The Heater Relay Module also has a cable connection on the backside which connects to
COM 4 of the system computer. Disconnect this cable before sliding the module all the
way out of its slot.
12. Connect the cable that comes from the computer to the backside of the new Heater Relay
Module.
13. Gently slide the new Heater Relay Module into the same slot from which you removed the
old module.
14. Secure the bottom of the new module by using the 4-mm hex key to tighten the two
securing bolts at the bottom of the module.
15. Use the 14-mm hex key to tighten the two securing bolts on the top of the module.
16. Reconnect all cables and cords to the appropriate receptors on the Heater Relay Module.
17. Reconnect all power cords to the dispensing system.
18. Rotate the Emergency Stop (EMO) button clockwise until it pops into place.
19. Turn the Main Circuit Breaker ON (I).
20. Press Start on the front control panel.
