PMAC Initialization
A. PMAC Initialization Files
1. There are several FmNT files that contain configuration variables for the PMAC.
2. These files are downloaded to the PMAC upon FmNT startup and include the
following:
 PMACINI.PMC
- This file contains several servo parameters and PMAC configuration
variables.
- The variables are similar to personality parameters and contain information
such as travel limits, speeds, accelerations, and motor/encoder resolutions.
 FMCONFIG.INI
- This file contains needle/camera offsets, purge preferences, and valve/
accessory information.
- If the FMCONFIG.INI is not setup correctly, the software will use incorrect
tuning parameters, which could lead to a following error.
(a) A following error is the difference between the calculated position
and the actual position, at any given point in time.
(b) A fatal following error is the maximum distance the positioner may
lag (or lead) before the system shuts down for safety reasons.
 PMAC.XML
- The PMAC has a list of tuning parameters for different weight classes, which
may be configured/mounted to the Z head.
 SNXXXXX.PMC
- This is the calibration map, specific to the mechanics of the given M-2000.
3. Backup copies of these files (with the exception of PMACINI.PMC) are contained on
the M-2000 Restoration Diskette.
