Parameters
Axis type Defines the type of axis monitored by the drive.
Linear: must be selected when “Monitoring a linear movement”.
Rotational: must be selected when “Monitoring a rotational movement”.
Sensor Type If the selection of the previous parameter is “Linear”, the “Sensor Type” defines the sensor
type that is connected to the inputs of the module, namely “Rotational” (e.g., encoder on a
gear rack) or “Linear” (e.g., linear measuring systems).
Measuring device Specifies the type of sensor(s) used. Selection options:
Encoder
Proximity switch
Encoder + proximity switch
Proximity switch 1 + proximity switch 2
Encoder 1 + encoder 2 (only for PSR-M-EM5 ... 7)
Enable Direction Activating this parameter activates the “Dir” output at the function block (SDI in accordance
with EN 61800-5-2).
In the example below, the “Dir” output is logic “1” if the axis turns counterclockwise. For this,
the subsequent “Direction decision” parameter must be set to “Clockwise”.
Figure 5-68 Example of an axis with clockwise rotation
Direction decision Specifies the direction for which the entered threshold values are activated in the event of
over-speed (SLS). Selection options:
Bidirectional (“D
IR” is logic “0”)
Clockwise (“D
IR” is logic “1” if the axis turns counterclockwise)
Counterclockwise (“D
IR” is logic “1” if the axis turns clockwise)
If “Bidirectional” has been selected, the overrange of the entered threshold value is mea-
sured irrespective of whether the axis turns clockwise or counterclockwise. If “Clockwise” or
“Counterclockwise” is selected, the measurement is only performed if the axis turns in the
selected direction.
Furthermore, this setting defines the safe direction (SDI) as a prerequisite for the “Enable
Direction” parameter. If “Bidirectional” has been selected, direction detection is inactive.
