4.2.14 Password protection
Password protection in the PSRmodular Software prevents unauthorized access when
loading and saving projects.
The user does not need to use a password when initializing the system for the first time (EN-
TER key). A user who knows the Level 2 password is authorized to enter a new Level 1
password (alphanumeric, maximum of eight characters).
Level 1 password
The Level 1 password authorizes the user to change and save loading processes (from the
base module to the PC) and projects on the PC.
The password authorizes the display of the log file (loading processes as well as system
error messages) in the text-based and graphical monitor view in online mode.
Level 2 password
The Level 2 password authorizes the user to send the configuration (from the PC to the base
module) and to change and save the project.
The password “SAFEPASS” must be used when initializing the system for the first time.
A user who knows the Level 2 password is authorized to enter a new Level 2 password (al-
phanumeric, maximum of eight characters).
The Level 2 password provides the user with access to all Level 1 functions as well as the
option to change the passwords.
Changing passwords
Log into the PSRmodular Software with the Level 2 password and click on the icon to
change the password.
A window appears where you can select the password you wish to change. Enter the old
password and the new password in the corresponding fields (maximum of eight characters).
Confirm with “OK”.
A system restart is not required after changing the password. The following message ap-
pears in the dialog box: “Change password of Level2 successfully”.
The initial password (SAFEPASS) of the base module must be changed in order to pre-
vent tampering.
If you forget either of the passwords, please contact Phoenix Contact.
Passwords can only be changed when communication is established with the base mod-
ule.
