With Enable If this parameter is selected, it is possible to activate or deactivate the muting function. Oth-
erwise, the muting function is always activated.
Enable Type There are two options for the enable type: “Enable/Disable” or “Enable Only”.
If the “Enable/Disable” parameter is selected, the muting cycle is only enabled by a rising
edge of the “E
NABLE” signal. The muting cycle is terminated at the latest by a falling edge at
the “E
NABLE” input.
If the “Enable Only” parameter is selected, the muting cycle is only enabled by a rising edge
of the “E
NABLE” signal. The muting cycle is not terminated by a falling edge at the “ENABLE”
input. For a new muting cycle to be performed, the “E
NABLE” signal must detect a rising
edge.
With Muting Out This parameter makes a muting output available at the function block, via which a muting
lamp can be connected.
Sensor Time A maximum time (2 to 5 s) can be parameterized that may elapse between the activation of
both muting sensors (“S1” and “S2”).
5.4.6.5 MUTING OVERRIDE operator
With the “MUTING-OVERRIDE” operator, errors that occur during the muting process (e.g.,
protruding material from a pallet, etc.) can be temporarily deactivated in order to move the
pallet out of the danger zone.
Figure 5-158 “MUTING OVERRIDE” operator
The operator enables the passivation of the directly connected muting input. Passivation
can only be activated if muting is not active (“O
VERRIDE” input = “0”) and at least one muting
sensor (or the light curtain) is occupied. The override is terminated when the light grid and
the sensors are enabled and the output changes to the logic “0” state.
Parameters
Manual Reset If this option is selected, a reset must be performed manually every time the function block
is activated. Otherwise, the activation of the output directly follows the state of the inputs.
