2.6 Error detection
Depending on the wiring and the parameterization, the safety modules and safe extension
modules detect the following errors at the safe inputs and outputs:
Short circuits and cross-circuits of inputs or outputs
Overload at the outputs
2.7 Error state
Stop category 1 only in er-
ror-free state
2.8 Diagnostic tools
PSRmodular Software Depending on the device, the PSRmodular system modules together with the configuration
software provide various tools that can be used to diagnose the active configuration on the
safety module:
Status/diagnostics of the inputs and outputs
Tool tips in the circuit diagram
Diagnostic and status indicators on the module
Additional diagnostic options using gateways
Diagnostic and status in-
dicators
You can find an overview of the diagnostic and status indicators of the individual modules
in the respective section of the data sheet.
Diagnostics via gateways You can connect your PSRmodular system to a higher-level controller via gateways. Diag-
nostic readouts are bus-specific.
The gateway transmits the status of the system as well as the diagnostic information for all
I/Os configured on the PSRmodular system.
Furthermore, the standard PLC can transmit all process data to the PSRmodular system.
For further information, please refer to the separate quick start guide for the gateways.
NOTE: Damage to equipment due to immediate shutdown
The device only ensures stop category 1 during error-free operation. In the event that the
supply voltage is lost or an internal error occurs, the device behaves in accordance with
stop category 0.
Do not use the device for applications in which stop category 1 also has to be ob-
served in the event of an error.
For information on hardware diagnostics and tool tips, please refer to the help for the con-
figuration software.
For information on diagnostics via gateways, please refer to the following application note:
