Output Test Enables the selection of clock signals that are to be connected to the sensor. These addi-
tional diagnostics enable the detection of short circuits and cross-circuits between the ca-
bles. To activate these diagnostics, the clock signals must be configured in the “Property”
window of the relevant function block.
Enable Error Out When this parameter is selected, an output (“E
RROR”) is made available which signals that
an error has been detected by the function block.
Item Description A 24-character text description of the function or the name can be entered here. The text is
displayed above the function block.
5.1.2.17 External input signal (EI)
The function of the external signals enables the integration of a non-safety-related input
from the fieldbus level. In a configuration, up to 8 fieldbus inputs can be used with the PSR-
M-B1 and up to 32 fieldbus inputs can be used with the PSR-M-B2.
Each external input signal that is used must be assigned a bit in the “Property” window. At
fieldbus level, the states are represented with 4 bytes for PSR-M-B2 and 1 byte for
PSR-M-B1.

NOTE:
The external input signal (EI) is NOT a safety input. It is only suitable for non-safety-related
(enable) functions.
