1. The user demands the enabling of the guard locking device. The “UNLOCK_CMDsignal
changes from logic 0” to logic “1”, while the “O
UTsignal changes from logic 1” to logic
“0”.
2. The guard locking device is controlled as parameterized with the “U
NLOCK” delay time
of 0.5 s. The “L
OCKOUT” signal changes from logic “0” to logic “1”.
3. The guard locking device is activated with a further delay of 95 ms, which is determined
by the technical properties of the guard locking device. With 95 ms, the actual time is
below the parameterized time of 100 ms.
4. The user releases the control that enables the interlock, so the “L
OCKOUT” signal
changes from logic “1” to logic “0” as does the “U
NLOCK_CMD” actuation signal.
5. The guard locking pin feedback is returned with a delay of around 95 ms, which is de-
termined by the technical properties of the guard locking device.
6. As soon as the “GUARD-LOCKING” operator detects that the guard locking device is
in the locked position, the “O
UT” signal is set to logic “1”.
Operating mode with posi-
tion monitoring of the
safety door
Figure 5-115 “GUARD-LOCKING” example in operating mode with position monitoring of
the safety door
The “Gate” input must be connected to a “GUARD-MONITORING (2CH)” function block
(see section “GUARD-MONITORING” (device for movable guards)), which detects the po-
sition of the safety door.
The “Lock_fbk” input must be connected to a “LOCK FEEDBACK” function block (see sec-
tion “LOCK FEEDBACK”), which detects the status of the guard locking pin.
The “U
NLOCK_CMD” input can be connected as desired in the circuit diagram and controls
the guard locking device (when at logic “1”).
The “O
UT” signal is at logic “1” when the safety door is closed and the guard locking device
is in the locked position. If an enable command is applied to the “U
NLOCK_CMD” input, the
“O
UT” signal is set to logic “0” and the guard locking device is enabled with the “LOCKOUT
signal.
In this case, the user must deactivate the “Gate not present” parameter.
