Parameters
Manual Reset If this option is selected, a reset must be performed manually every time the function block
is activated. Otherwise, the activation of the output directly follows the state of the inputs.
Reset Type There are two types of reset: “Manual” or “Monitored”. If the “Manual” option is selected, only
the signal transition from logic “0” to logic “1” is checked. In the case of the “Monitored” op-
tion, the double transition from logic “0” to logic “1” and back to logic “0” is checked.

a connection example
Output Test Enables the selection of clock signals that are to be connected to the safety mat. These ad-
ditional diagnostics enable the detection of short circuits. The demand of the safety function
occurs when someone steps onto the mat. This generates a cross-circuit between the con-
tact surfaces of the mat and initiates the safe state. To activate these diagnostics, the clock
signals must be configured in the “Property” window of the relevant function block.
The clock signals are mandatory and must always be selected using two possible configu-
rations: Test Output 1/Test Output 2 or Test Output 3/Test Output 4.
StartUp Test If this option is selected, a function test of the safety mat is required before the enable. This
test requires the safety mat to be activated and deactivated in order to activate the “O
UT”
output. This check is only required on machine startup.
Filter (ms) This option enables external input signals to be filtered. The filter can be configured with a
value between 3 and 250 ms and helps suppress contact chatter. The length of the filter time
affects the calculation of the response time of the safety function.
Enable Error Out When this parameter is selected, an output (“E
RROR”) is made available which signals that
an error has been detected by the function block.
Item Description A 24-character text description of the function or the name can be entered here. The text is
displayed above the function block.
Inputs at a function block must always be used in ascending order. Example: if Input 1 is
used for the function block, Input 2 must be used for the reset input.

Each clock signal may only be connected to one protective contact mat input (the parallel
connection of two inputs is not permitted).
