Sensor anomaly This parameter enables the selection of a current measured value, which the PSR-M-EF7
extension module generates if a sensor malfunction is detected.
Malfunctions that can be detected:
– Cable not connected (only for 4 mA ... 20 mA sensors)
– Overload at isolated power supply unit of a channel
– Current/voltage overload in the input of a measuring channel
Selection options for the generated current measured value:
– Saturated 0 mA
– Saturated 25 mA
The associated scaled value (e.g., kg, K, etc.) based on 0 mA or 25 mA is output as a num-
ber at the “A
NALOG” output.
Example:
4 mA (8 kg) ... 20 mA (40 kg) --> In the event of a sensor anomaly (25 mA), the value 50 kg
(25 mA) is output at the analog output.
Analog Output
Figure 5-87 Function block for “Analog Output” option
When the “Analog Output” option is selected, the function block gets an additional “Analog”
output in the circuit diagram. The PSRmodular Software generates a numerical value at this
output, which corresponds to the value measured by the sensor.
In the case of two-channel evaluation, the numerical value of the first channel (“AI
N”) is out-
put as a reference variable at the “A
NALOG” output.
NOTE:
Prerequisite: “Sensor anomaly” is set to “Saturated 0 mA”.
Output “O
UT1” of the ANALOG INPUT function block initially remains at logic “1”. It is only
when the upper measuring range final value of 12.5 V is reached that output “O
UT1” of the
ANALOG INPUT function block is set to logic “0”.
NOTE:
The default setting is “Saturated 25 mA”. Validate whether a “Saturated 25 mA” setting is
permissible from a safety point of view for the further calculation of analog values (e.g.,
adder, etc.).
