8 Maintenance, repair, decommissioning, and disposal
8.1 Maintenance
The modules of the PSRmodular system do not require maintenance. Depending on the ap-
plication and connected I/O devices, the function of the I/O devices and the safety chain
must be tested regularly.
Carry out maintenance on connected I/O devices (e.g., light grid) in accordance with the
manufacturer's specifications.
For mission time and the proof test interval at a high or low demand rate for the modules of
the PSRmodular system, refer to the technical data.
8.2 Repair
It is prohibited for the user to carry out repair work or make modifications to the module. The
housing must not be opened. If the housing is opened, the function of the PSRmodular mod-
ules can no longer be ensured.
In the event of an error, send the module to Phoenix Contact or contact Phoenix Contact im-
mediately.
8.3 Decommissioning and disposal
Carry out decommissioning in accordance with the requirements of the machine or system
manufacturer.
When decommissioning the PSRmodular system or parts of the system, ensure the follow-
ing for the modules used:
Fate of the module Action
The modules will continue to be used as in-
tended.
Observe the storage and transport require-
ments according to the technical data.
Modules will no longer be used. Dispose of modules in accordance with the
environmental regulations. Make sure that
the modules can never be reused.
