5.1.2.15 ENABLE SWITCH function block
The “ENABLE SWITCH” function block checks the status of the “I
N” inputs of an actuated
enable switch. If the enable switch is not actuated (Position 1) or fully pressed (Position 3),
the “O
UT” output is logic “0”. If the enable switch is pressed in the middle position (Position
2), the output is logic “1”.

Parameters
Input Type Double N/O contact
Double N/O contact + 1 N/C contact
Output Test Enables the selection of clock signals that are to be connected to the contacts of the enable
switch. These additional diagnostics enable the detection of short circuits and cross-circuits
between the cables. To activate these diagnostics, the clock signals must be configured in
the “Property” window of the relevant function block.
StartUp Test If this option is selected, a function test of the enable switch is required before the enable.
This test requires the enable switch to be activated and deactivated in order to activate the
“O
UT” output. This check is only required on machine startup.
