APPENDIX B. DATA FILE STRUCTURES (revision 3.21)
Each file consists of blocks of parameters followed by the logger data. The number and sequence of the
blocks of parameters may vary depending on the type of measurement performed, however, the header block
(see Table B.1.1) is always first in the file. Each data block consists of a specified number of words. The term
word means two consecutive bytes, with the lower byte preceding the higher. If the words contain ASCII text
characters, the low byte of the word also precedes the high byte. The number of words in a block is constant
(as in the case of a file header) or is defined in the first or second word of a block. Exception is the block of
the primary results record (see Table B.2.1), the length of which depends on the parameters placed in the
respective blocks of parameters. The following chapters describe the structure of each block.
