X-ray Cabinet and Barriers
The 5DX System X-ray cabinet uses movable barriers to contain the X-radiation.
Depending on the configuration of the 5DX system, the X-radiation at all times is
contained by either: the outer cabinet with the outer barriers or the inner cabinet
with the inner barrier.
Outer Cabinet and Outer Barriers
The outer cabinet contains X-radiation by the use of the outer barriers. The outer
barriers prevent X-ray leakage during inspection. They open when a panel enters
or leaves the 5DX System. In Figure 5-6, the cross-hatched area is the portion of
the Main Cabinet defined as the outer cabinet area.
