Clean and Inspect the Rotary Scintillator Shield
Maintenance Frequency: Monthly
Estimated Time: Ten minutes
Required Items:
• Clean, lint-free and non-abrasive cleaning wipes
• Glass cleaner
• #2 Phillips screwdriver
• Standard hex wrench set
Prerequisite:
• Shutdown the 5DX System. Follow the Long Term Shutdown For the
Agilent 5DX System procedure in Chapter 4, Power Subsystem to ensure
you shut it down correctly.
• Perform Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedure. See page 4-4 of Chapter 4, Power
Subsystem for more information.

Procedure:
1. Open the right side access panel.
2. Using a 5/32-inch hex wrench, remove the four screws that secure the Rotary
Scintillator shield.
3. Using the glass cleaner and wipes, clean both sides of the Rotary Scintillator
shield.
4. Reinstall the Rotary Scintillator shield using the screws that were removed in
Step 2.
