Panel Handling Software
Hardware Status and Control
The Hardware Status and Control exercises both Input and Output bits of the
Digital I/O and reports the status of the components monitored by the Motion
Enable Control. Figure 5-24 shows the Panel Transport tab for a Series 3 5DX
without a middle rail installed. The features are divided between four tabs:
• Panel Transport -To control and view the status of the Panel Handling
Subsystem hardware
• Lights/Lasers - To control and view the status of the status beacon, the camera
lights, and the front and rear lasers
• SMT Communication - To control and view the status of the SMEMA
communication signals
• Fault Sensors - To view the status of the components monitored by the Motion
Enable Control
From the Service menu, select Panel Handling > Hardware Control to access
the utility.
WA R N I NG This application is designed for only experienced users. Before running this
program:
1. Remove all panels from the 5DX.
2. Turn off X-rays.
3. Move the stage to the zero height position
Using this application with the hardware in any other state could cause severe
damage the 5DX system and/or severe damage to a panel in the system.
