5-16 Panel Handling Subsystem
XYZ Stage Assembly 5DX Series 3
XYZ Stage Assembly
The XYZ Stage Assembly is a precision computerized positioning table that
provides the movements required to position a panel for inspection. This includes
movements in the X-Axis, Y-Axis and Z-Axis. The XYZ Stage Assembly holds
and moves the panel from point to point, so that each area of the panel is
successively brought into view.
Panel positioning is accomplished by using CAD data to identify the component
and solder joint locations. Once these locations are defined, the System Controller
signals Motion Controller PCI #1. Motion Controller PCI #1 then initiates signals
which drive the appropriate motors and move the panel under test to the required
locations. The parameters of panel positioning motion, such as acceleration,
maximum velocity, move profile, and digital filter values are configurable.
