Servo Modules
There are four Servo Modules as follows:
one for the X-Axis Servomotor,
two for the Y-Axis Servomotors,
and one for the Rotary Servomotor.
The Servo Modules are each identical, but they have been programmed to amplify
the unique signals for the associated motor.
The Servo Modules receive their 220V AC power from the Power Distribution
Unit (PDU). The power cords from the PDU are marked to identify which Servo
Module they supply power to. Each Servo Module contains an internal power
supply that powers a single servomotor. Each module also converts the 220V to 5V
DC for powering internal circuitry, motor encoders, motor Hall effect sensors, and
limit/home switches. The motor relays inside the Servo Modules require 12V from
the low voltage power supply to close the relays and connect the motors to the
amplifiers.

WARNING Do not disconnect any motor cables from the motor or servo
module unless you are certain the motor is not spinning. A
spinning motor can generate hazardous voltages. This is
especially true for the Rotary Scintillator. Be sure it stops
spinning before disconnecting any cables.
