Setting the Positions for the Encoder
1. In a Command Prompt window, type ca and press Enter.
2. Type vs machine.cfg and press Enter.
3. Locate the line @Mach_bLoaderLess and verify that it is set to TRUE. If
@Mach_bLoaderLess is set to FALSE, then change it to TRUE.
4. If changes were made, then press Alt-w to save the file.
5. Press Alt-x to exit.
6. At the Command Prompt, type hmshtr and press Enter. This command
homes the Inner Barrier. The home position is when the Inner Barrier is open.
7. At the prompt to press Enter, press Enter to close the Inner Barrier. While the
Inner Barrier is closing, Motion Controller #2 finds the Encoder’s Z-pulse.
8. Open one of the sliding access panels and verify that the Inner Barrier is in the
closed position.
9. Close the sliding access panel.
127( The setting of @Mach_bLoaderLess in machine.cfg determines
which version of the Hardware Status and Control to run.
127( If Motion Controller #2 does not find the Z-pulse for the Encoder,
then the hmshtr program will lock up. The Encoder shaft range of
travel is 30 degrees. The program locks up if the shaft of the Encoder
is not aligned properly with the Z-pulse within that 30 degrees of
travel. If the program locks up press Ctrl+c to halt the hmshtr
program. Loosen the Encoder Set Screw and turn the Encoder shaft
an 1/8th of a turn. Tighten the Encoder Set Screw and repeat this
procedure.
