Imaging Subsystem Components
Image Generation Components
• System Controller — Runs the panel program and controls the movement of
the panel on the XYZ Stage Assembly such that an image may be generated.
• X-ray Scan Controller — Provides the driving signals for the deflection of the
Electron Beam. Also contains four banks, one used for the dump ring and three
for the Field of Views.
• X-ray Tube Assembly — Creates the focused Electron Beam.
• Rotary Scintillator Assembly — Converts the X-rays into a visible light and
passes the image to the X-ray Image Camera.
Image Acquisition Components
• System Controller — Provides the Start of Cycle Signal to the Interface Card,
and arms and disarms the Frame Grabbers.
• Interface Card — Provides the Bank Select function for the X-ray Scan
Controller and provides the Shutter Pulse for capturing an image.
• Frame Grabbers (2) — Provide the digital interface between the X-ray Image
Camera and the System Controller.
• X-ray Image Camera — Gathers the image and sends it to the Frame Grabbers.
Image Analysis Components
• System Controller — Analyzes the image data based on the panel program.
• Agilent 5DX Software — The program that creates the panel program and
provides the utilities for setting up the thresholds within the algorithms.
