6.4.4 Setting RS485 network address
To specify the network address of the controller, use CONF2 dip-unit.
The address can have a value from 1 to 255. Address 0 is invalid; if you try to turn on the controller
with this address, it will signal a configuration error in accordance with Sec. 13 Appendix 1. The
controller audible signals.
The address is set bit by bit in the binary system. Dip-toggle 1 is LSB (least significant bit) of the
address, dip-toggle 8 is MSB (most significant bit). Toggle position ON corresponds to on-bit, OFF is
off-bit.
Controller address settings are shown in the respective table (see Sec. 17 Appendix 5. Setting
controller RS485 address).
All controllers in the same segment of the RS-485 communication line must have unique and non-
overlapping addresses.
Depending on the selected configuration, a single controller is using one or more
addresses on the RS485 loop.
When in Turnstile or Gate configuration, the controller will only use the address set
by a dip-toggle.
When in Two Door configuration, the controller will use not only the address set by
a dip-toggle, but also the next address in order. E.g., if address 108 is set, addresses
108 and 109 will be used. Thus, the controller will be seen by a system as two
access points.
6.4.5 Connecting emergency release line
Connecting fire alarm lines or emergency release button is necessary for the automatic opening of
actuators connected to the controller in the event of a fire.
Connection is made to galvanic isolated controller inputs, what ensures the functioning of the
system even in case of a large potential difference between the power supply circuits of different
controllers.
The operating principle of fire alarm inputs is described in Sec. 11.4 Processing fire alarm signals.
If inputs are not used, the FD jumper should be set on the controller board (set by default).
SA1
Normally closed emergency release button, acts only on the Controller 1.
SA2
Normally closed emergency release button, acts on all controllers integrated in one
line.
K1
Normally closed relay of the fire alarm system, opens when alarm is activated. You
can use any relay connected in parallel to fire alarm siren.
