Transitions
Transitions Using E-MEM
Transitions can also be built into E-MEMs. See E-MEM Transitions on
page 188.
Aux Bus Transitions
Aux Bus transitions on the Local Aux Module (or Source Select Module del-
egated to Aux bus control) allow you to mix or wipe between sources on an
aux bus. Before Kayenne, if an operator required a mix (dissolve) or wipe
on an Aux bus output, they had to either:
• Know well in advance and dedicate an ME partition to that Aux bus, or
• Rapidly match the A bus source to an ME partition on the current Aux
bus source, cut to that ME partition on the current Aux bus, preset the
new source and make the dissolve, and cut to the new source on the
Aux bus to release the ME partition.
The first option ties up the ME partition to one Aux bus while the second
requires time to set up.
Kayenne allows the operator to use as little as one ME partition to make
mixes or wipes on any Aux bus by automating the second method.
The operator must decide whether mix-only transitions or a choice of wipe
and mix are required for a show and then use the User Setups, Suite Prefs,
Resource Allocation menu to release a half ME (ME 50) for a mix-
only/wipe-only transition or a full ME partition of an ME for a mix/wipe
transition (
Figure 114).
