In DuoPAP (Figure B-11), the switchover between the two lev-
els is defined by pressure settings P high and PEEP/CPAP and
time settings T high and Rate. Like PEEP/CPAP, P high is relative
to atmospheric pressure. In APRV (Figure B-12), the switchover
is defined by pressure settings P high and P low and time set-
tings T high and T low. In DuoPAP, PEEP/CPAP is the baseline for
Psupport, while in APRV, P low is the baseline for Psupport –
Psupport is relative to PEEP/CPAP or P low.
