4 Tests, calibrations and utilities
4.2.1 Pre-operational check with heliox
WARNING
Always perform this test before using the device
on a patient.
Generate an alarm (for
example, generate an
Air
supply failed
alarm
by disconnecting the air
supply and then starting
ventilation).
Corresponding alarm
message appears in
the message bar (in
this example:
Air
supply failed
).
After standby, all
alarms except
Air
supply failed
and
Loss of mains
power
are suppressed
for 1 min.
Resolve the alarm situa-
tion (for example, recon-
nect air supply).
Alarm reset.

1. Connect ventilator
to AC power,
heliox, com-
pressed air and
oxygen supplies.
2. Assemble the
patient breathing
circuit.
Breathing circuit is
assembled correctly.
Complete task.
Switch on power. When ventilator is
switched on, an audio
alarm sounds and the
alarm lamp is red.
After the self-test is
passed the alarm lamp
turns red again.
The audio alarm
sounds only briefly in
the beginning.
