B Modes of ventilation
The control settings active in the nCPAP-PS mode are shown in
Figure B-17. This mode requires that you set the parameters
needed for both mandatory and spontaneous breath types.
The inspiratory pressure (Psupport) setting defines the applied
pressure for both mandatory and spontaneous breaths. The
Rate and TI (inspiratory time) control settings define the breath
timing. For spontaneous breaths, the ETS setting defines the
percentage of peak flow that cycles the device into exhalation.
Breaths can be triggered by the ventilator, patient, or operator.
The nCPAP-PS system is integrated with a nasal cannula with
interchangeable silicone prongs (size marked), a Delivery Cir-
cuit (heated wire) and Cap (see separate instruction leaflet).
