Use the SATA Secure Erase option to control whether SATA Secure Erase functionality is supported. This function prevents the Secure
Freeze Lock command from being sent to SATA hard drives.
PrerequisitesPrerequisites
The SATA controller on the hard drive is in ACHI mode.
The hard drive supports the Secure Erase command.
ProcedureProcedure
1. From the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration > BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) > Storage Options > SATA
Controller Options > SATA Secure Erase.
2. Select a setting.
Enabled—The Security Freeze Lock command is not sent to supported SATA hard drives, enabling Secure Erase to function.
Disabled—Disables Secure Erase.
3. Save your setting.
