3. Slowly slide the top hat straight into the chassis until the front flanges are approximately 3/8-in. away
from the corresponding chassis flanges. The threaded studs in the chassis flanges should be aligned
with the center of the holes in the top hat front flanges (see Figure 90 on page 303).
The 3/8-in. clearance is required to see the chassis midplane connector to which the craft interface
ribbon cable connects. (The craft interface ribbon cable is attached to the extended cable manager top
hat.)
