5.2.2 Switching the transmission to the neutral position
You can switch the transmission to neutral position at any time.
• Shift to position N.
The neutral position is switched on when the entry N appears.
Switch the transmission to neutral position to start the engine. The engine may
only be started in this position.

Risk of accidents when switching on while driving!
If you switch the transmission to neutral position while driving, the drive line will
be interrupted. As a result you will no longer be able to accelerate the truck
crane, for instance when trying to avoid an obstacle, and the engine retarder will
have no effect.

Risk of accidents due to the truck crane rolling away!
Always apply the parking brake or the service brake before you switch to the
neutral position. This prevents the truck crane rolling away unintentionally.

Risk of damage to the transmission!
When stationary for a longer period (for example, in a traffic jam or at a level
crossing), always switch the gear to N.
This avoids excessive wear on the transmission components.
