Safe clock outputs Depending on the configuration, the asynchronous test clocks provide safe cross-circuit de-
tection on the cables to the inputs of the safety modules. Test clocks may only be used by
the same module in each case.
Figure 3-3 Cross-circuit detection
Digital signal outputs The signal outputs are programmable, non-safety-related digital outputs that can transmit
status information.
Standard signals can be transmitted to a PLC or other signal generators via the signal out-
puts.
When configured accordingly in the PSRmodular Software, a signal output can output the
status for the following elements:
An input
An output
An address for the logic diagram planned with the PSRmodular Software
Safe relay outputs The PSR-M-EF6 module uses four safety relays with force-guided contacts.
Each relay has a normally open contact (NO) that is monitored by the internal FBK contact
and the module logic.
WARNING: Loss of the safety function
Avoid possible external power supply from external signal sources (e.g., PLC inputs,
cross-circuits, etc.) when connecting to safety-related outputs.
