3-16 Safety Interlock Subsystem
Operator Control Console 5DX Series 3
Procedure
1. Select Utilities and press Enter.
2. Select Service and press Enter.
3. Select Panel Handling and press Enter.
4. Select Hardware Control and press Enter.
5. Press 0 (the letter) to put the Hardware Status and Control in Output Mode.
6. Type 09 to close the Inner Barrier.
7. Select System Access and press Enter.
8. Select Shutdown and press Enter.
9. Select Short Term Shutdown and press Enter.
10. Power off the Motion Driver Power Supply.
11. At the Safety Interlock Controller, unplug the cable connected to J25032. Plug
the loose end of the cable into the Cable Adapter.
12. Attach the test leads for the ohmmeter to 1 and 6 on the Cable Adapter.
13. Set the ohmmeter to the resistance mode.
14. Open the side access panel.
15. Insert the 40 mil side of the Gap Adjuster between the two halves of the Inner
Barrier. To do this, gently pull back on the Inner Barrier half and place the 40
mil side of the Gap Adjuster against the Tungsten on the Inner Barrier half.
Guide the Inner Barrier half back into position. The force exerted by the Inner
Barrier halves will hold the Gap Adjuster in place.
