15.7 Replacement of the pump motor and rotor
When replacing the pump motor and pump rotor?
In case of an electrical failure of the pump you can replace the pum p motor and pump rotor without replacing the pump house.
This way you do no t hav e to cut the hoses from the pump house which s implify the replacem ent p rocedure. However, note that the
bearings of the pump are subject to wear. Because of that the com plete pump (pump house included) has to be replaced ev ery 4
years.
You have to order a complete pump but you only have to use the pump motor and pump rotor.
This procedure assumes that the Light Processor is removed from the projector (see chapter “Light processor
removal) and that the liquid cooling circuit” is drained (see “Draining the liquid cooling circuit”).
Necessary tools
• 3 mm Allen wrench with ball point.
• 7 m m open-end wrench.
• PH2 Phillips s crewdr iver.
•Cloths.
• Cotton swab.
How to replace the pump motor and pump rotor
1. D isconnect the wire unit of the cooling pump.

2. R emov e the four screws (reference 1) which fasten the pump house to the pum p motor.

3. S lide the pump hous e with hose back wards. Use a cloth to absorb the rema ining cooling liquid.
