5. Troubleshooting
Situation Solution
Corrupt firmware/software. Reload the latest fir mware and software version of the Motor Control Board.
Malfunction M otor C ontrol B oard. Check the diagnostic LE D s of the Motor Control Board. Replace the Motor Control Board
if nec essary. See "Replacing the motor control board (MCB)", page 283.
Code 8105: “Vertical lens shift end of range” (Error)
This error code is probably preceded by the warning code 8104: “Vertical lens shift end of range”. The same troubleshooting table
can be applied to.
Code 8106: “Lens focus end of range” (Warning)
Situation Solution
The lens focus has reached the end
of range.
1. If unexpected, calibrate the lens. S ee installation m anual of the H DF projector.
2. Ensure if the throw ratio of the lens is suitable for the projection distance. If not,
install a s uitable lens.
Code 8107: “Lens focus end of range” (Error)
This error code is probably preceded by the warning code 8106: “Le ns focus end of range”. The same troubleshooting table can be
applied to.
Code 8108: “Lens zoom end of range” (Warning)
Situation Solution
The lens zoom has reached the end
of range.
1. If unexpected, calibrate the lens. S ee installation m anual of the H DF projector.
2. Ensure if the throw ratio of the lens is suitable for the projection distance. If not,
install a s uitable lens.
Code 8109: “Lens zoom end of range” (Error)

Situation Solution
Wire unit disconnected.
1. Check if the y ellow wire unit from the shutter assem bly is connected
with the Motor
Control Board.
2. Check if the yellow wire unit is connected with the s hutter assembly.
Malfunction shutte r motor.
Replace the sh utter assembly.
Code 8111: “Shutter time out” (Error)

Code 8116: “Vertical lens shift driver” (Warning)
Situation Solution
The LED “ERROR C H2” on the
Motor Control Boa rd lit up indicating
that there is a problem w ith the
vertical shift of the lens. See also

Check if:
• the wire unit of the stepper motor for vertical shift is connected.
• the wire unit of the stepper motor for vertical shift is not damaged (c ausing a open
circuit or short circuit).
• the stepper motor for vertical s hift is not malfunctioning. If so, r eplace the stepper
motor. S ee "Replacement of the Vertical Shift stepper motor", page 234.
