      If your Canon Printer is ejecting blank paper, it might be due to several reasons. The leading edge of the roll paper may have been cut to straighten it, which can occur if Trim Edge First is set to a value other than Off in the Control Panel menu. Another possibility is that the Printhead nozzles are clogged; print a test pattern to check the nozzles. Ensure you are using the correct imagePROGRAF printer driver for your printer. In rare cases, the printer might be damaged.

      If your Canon Printer isn't responding to print jobs, check if Pause Print is On in the Control Panel menu and set it to Off. Also, verify if you've selected Save in mail box in Output Method on the printer; if so, print the job saved on the printer's hard disk. Another reason could be pending print jobs; manage the jobs on hold and print as needed.

      If your Canon Printer is not cutting paper, ensure that Yes is specified in Automatic Cutting in the printer driver. If the Cutting Mode is Eject, press the Cut button to cut the paper. If the Cutting Mode is Manual, cut rolls with scissors or the like. Check if the Cutter Unit is installed and install it if it is not. If you are using the Media Take-up Unit, either cut the roll paper by pressing the Cut button or lift the Release Lever and cut the roll with scissors.

      If roll paper cannot be inserted into the paper feed slot of your Canon Printer, it might be because the roll paper is warped; straighten out curls and reload the roll. Another reason could be that paper is jammed by the paper feed slot; remove the jammed paper. Also, the paper source selection may be incorrect; press the Load button and select the paper source.

    Why does the media take-up unit continue rotating on my Canon IPF8400S Printer?

      The media take-up unit on your Canon Printer may continue rotating if there is a foreign object in the path of the Media Take-up Sensor; remove any obstruction. Ensure the Basket Cloth and Basket Rod do not interfere with the Media Take-up Sensor. Check that the Media Take-up Sensor cord is correctly connected to the Right Media Take-up Unit; turn the printer off, disconnect, and firmly reconnect the cord before turning the printer back on.
