About Long-distance P-link
Using long-distance P-link lets P-link devices be separated from a CONVERGE Pro 2 and from one
another by up to 650 feet (198m).
Things to keep in mind:
You can turn long-distance P-link on or off in the Device Settings dialog box. See Changing CP2 Device
Settings - General for more information.
Long-distance P-link applies only to Beamforming Microphone Array 2 and BMA CT devices, and not to
any other P-link devices.
Connect the devices using CAT6, 550MHz, 23AWG solid conductor Ethernet cable. Do not use Copper
Clad Aluminum (CCA) Ethernet cable.
Any CP2 units being connected using long-distance P-link must have firmware 5.0.13.0 or newer.
Any Beamforming Microphone Array 2 units being connected using long-distance P-link must have
firmware 1.0.3.12 or newer.
You can connect no more than three Beamforming Microphone Array 2 or BMA CT channels to one
CP2 when using Long-distance P-link. Each speaker channel uses one of those three channels, along
with the mic channels.
About Templates
When you make adjustments to channel properties for a particular channel type, you can save all the
settings together as a template. You can save as many templates as you want and then later apply them
again when using the same channel property type in the future. Using templates is a fast, easy way to
adjust channel properties without having to repeat the same steps.
There are basically three ways to create and use channel property templates:
1. Save or apply templates from the channel properties block in FlowView or MatrixView by right-clicking
anywhere in the block and choosing Apply Template or Save As Template
2. Open a channel property block from the Channel Properties screen and then right-click anywhere in the
block and choose Apply Template or Save As Template
3. Use the Template Editor to manage templates (for more information, see Using Template Editor)
