7. Heat inner bearing race and place it
against the housing cover until contact is
obtained.
8. Insert outer bearing race into the bearing
bore and hold it in place using adjusting
nut.
9. Tilt idle carrier 180°.
10. Insert the crown wheel side outer bearing
race into the bearing bore and temporarily
hold it in position with the second adjusting
nut.
Adjustment of Bearing Preload and
Backlash
1. Attach dial indicator right angled on the
outer diameter of the tooth flank/crown
wheel.
2. Adjust adjusting nut on the crown wheel
side until the required backlash - see value
engraved on the crown wheel outer
diameter - is obtained.
