B. Line up the shim.
EXAMPLE F:
21. Heat inner bearing race and position it
against shoulder.
22. Install and grease O-ring (Figure 326).
23. Heat inner diameter of the bearing cover
(bearing seat).
Dimension I e.g. 43.85 mm (1.7264 in)
Dimension II e.g. - 42.15 mm (1.6594 in)
Difference = 1.70 mm (0.0669 in)
Bearing Preload e.g. + 0.10 mm (0.0039 in)
Gives Shim (s) s = 1.80 mm (0.0709 in)
CAUTION!
Use protective gloves.
