Instrument &Laboratory Check
l Check room humidity (20%85%)
l Check room temperature (15°C–30°C)
l Perform external inspection
l Check for leaks
Prepare Workspace
l Clean work areas
Change Gloves
Prepare Assay Reagents
l Print Assay Reagents Report, if necessary
l Reconstitute reagents, if necessary
l If using previously reconstituted reagents, bring reagents to
room temperature and gently invert all reagents
l Warm Probe Reagent, if necessary, and invert
Change Gloves
Complete Panther System Tasks
1. Load Tips
2. Load MTUs
Check for:
l All 5 tiplets present
l All tube positions are free of debris
l Barcodes present, properly aligned, and undamaged
l Distributor foot is undamaged
3. Load Universal Fluids
l Replace depleted fluids
l Ensure all fittings are secure
4. Empty Waste
l Ensure all fittings are secure
Change Gloves
5. Perform Maintenance
l Complete all required maintenance tasks
6. Prime
l Ensure resources are available
7. Load Assay Reagents
l Gently invert reagents, remove caps, ensure no
bubbles and/or precipitate is present
l Ensure bottles are properly seated
l Verify all barcodes are visible
l Load onto the Panther System
l Ensure wTCR position matches assay reagent lane for
corresponding reagents
8. Load Samples
l Ensure sample default settings are accurate or test
orders are available via LIS
l Rack calibrators and/or controls for each assay reagent
kit loaded, if necessary
l Confirm correct sample collection and volume
l Place samples into racks
l Verify all barcodes are visible
l If required, ensure sample retainers are seated
l Load racks onto the Panther System
Change Gloves
Pipetting & Assay Processing
l Sample tube graphic will change from:
l Green—Sample loaded
l Yellow—Pipetting in-process
l Blue—Pipetting complete
Feed & Monitor
l Return, as needed, to load tips, MTUs, additional sample
racks, and Assay Reagents
Change Gloves
Review/Manage Results
l Send to LIS, if necessary
l Print Results Report, if necessary
Unload Assay Reagents (optional)
l Cap and appropriately store assay reagents.
Log Off (optional)
