Parameters
directory: Specifies the name for the directory to be created.
Usage guidelines
You can perform this operation only after you log in to the FTP server.
You must have permission to perform this operation on the FTP server.
Examples
# Create a subdirectory named newdir in the current directory of the FTP server.
ftp> mkdir newdir
257 "newdir" : The directory was successfully created
newer
Use newer to update a local file by using a file on the FTP server.

remotefile: Specifies a file on the FTP server.
localfile: Specifies the local file to be updated.
Usage guidelines
You can perform this operation only after you log in to the FTP server.
If the local file does not exist, this command downloads the file from the FTP server and saves it
locally.
If the file on the FTP server is not newer than the local file, this command does not update the local
file.
Examples
# Update the local file with the a.txt file on the FTP server.
ftp> newer a.txt
local: a.txt remote: a.txt
